It was these simple, yet complex types of questions that helped lead to the founding of Best Doctors back in the 1980’s, by a group of professors of medicine affiliated with the renowned Harvard University’s School of Medicine.
They observed that many patients were coming to the United States to be treated for complex medical conditions. Believing that a patient shouldn’t have to leave home, their own doctor, or even their own healthcare system to get the best diagnosis and medical treatment, they set out to create a unique database of specialized medical experts and information. Since then, Best Doctors has evolved into a company with a developed set of services that form the cornerstones of our business.

How Best Doctors Works:If you or your treating physician suspect that you have one of the covered medical conditions, you simply call the Best Doctors Member Care Centre at 1-877-419-BEST (2378).You’ll be connected to a Member Advocate, a registered nurse, who will be dedicated to you through diagnosis, treatment and recovery. The first thing the Member Advocate will help you and your physician do, is submit three simple forms, which allow us to collect all of your relevant medical information. This way we can proceed with a review of your specific medical situation.This information is forwarded to a team of specialists who are affiliated with the renowned Harvard Medical School in Boston. Through exhaustive research, this team will help make sure that no stone is left unturned, to help ensure that your diagnosis is correct and that the recommended treatment is the best.Based on those findings, a detailed report is sent back to you and your doctor. Your Member Advocate will call to explain the diagnosis, recommended treatment and what your options are.In short there are three key steps involved in the Best Doctors program:The first is our InterConsultation™ service, which helps ensure that your diagnosis is correct.
